Ganga Hospital was founded in the year 1978 by Dr J G Shanmuganathan and Mrs Kanakavalli Shanmuganathan with 17 beds. In 1991 it became a speciality centre for Trauma, Orthopaedics and Plastic Surgery when their sons Dr S Raja Sabapathy and Dr S Rajasekaran joined the hospital. Due to its commitment to excellence in patient care, it has now expanded to a 400 bedded facility for Plastic Surgery & Orthopaedics.
Now Ganga Hospital is venturing to extend quality care in the field of Women and Child Care. Ganga Hospital started its operations in Ganga women and child care was inaugurated in June, 2007 and is functioning under the able leader ship of Dr Suma Natarajan with a dedicated team of doctors. This centre has a bed strenght of 135.
The centre has a very clear mission to accomplish, it purposes to be the centre of excellent obstetric, gynaecologic and paediatric care in this part of our country.
